Opening a juice bar requires a thousand different things, and you’ll have to wear a dozen different hats to get the job done, but one of the very first things you have to nail is site selection.
When you’re on board as a Juice It Up! franchisee, you’ve got a huge advantage over independent operators when it comes to the entire opening process, and we take special care to ensure you pick the right site from the get-go.
First-time juice bar owner? No problem
If this will be your first time opening a juice bar, or any business for that matter, starting out as a Juice It Up! franchisee was your first great decision. The next one will be choosing the right site. We’ve been in business since 1995, and with almost 100 locations we understand what works – and what doesn’t.
“A lot of our new franchise owners have never been in business before, so naturally they’re curious about whether we help them with site selection,” says Marcus Skinner, VP of Operations. “And we absolutely do. We provide them with the resources and tools they need to determine why one site works better than another, and we are right alongside them during the site selection process.”
We’ll provide new franchisees with site criteria that we’ve honed over more than two decades in business as a healthy food franchise. We know what works well for our brand, and we have relationships with commercial real estate brokers nationwide who can provide expertise in specific communities.
Most franchisees lease their sites
Since most of our franchisees lease their Juice It Up! locations, we match them to a commercial broker who will represent them as a tenant. Juice It Up! does have to approve the site, and we can’t guarantee it will be successful, but we do make sure you have every possible advantage. Our experts will review your letter of intent and your lease to make sure you have everything you need for a Juice It Up! location.
Some franchisees may want to hire a real estate attorney to take a look at their documentation as well, and we can provide recommendations for attorneys in your area. As a Juice It Up! owner, you’ll be acting as project manager on site improvements, but we’ll provide you with our equipment vendors and other contractors with whom we have relationships.
We’ll put together a timeline based on your specific site and review the layout of your store with a certified architect. Our Director of Construction, Jon Wede, will also be available to answer your questions about project execution and various construction details.
